Jet lag. It is real. I have been quite tired today, BUT other than some mixed up words and nonsensical sentences, I have remained sane.

On an entirely different note, today we got to see a WWII cemetery in Margraten, which is about 6 miles outside of Maastricht. This was a fantastic experience. I honestly cannot even fathom the terrors of war. These men who died for our country are ALL heros. I revere them immensely for laying down their lives. Many soldiers still have not even been found and lie buried in the ground somewhere in Europe.
This is the chapel building. The woman statue at the end is a stereotypical picture of the widow, daughter, wife, or other family member of a soldier who passed away in battle.
Cool trees. Pretty clouds. Thousands of graves.
Say hello to Dr.Rust! He is our Baylor professor here in Maastricht. He is teaching two of the classes i am enrolled in. Also, he is a native German and his wife and son are in the Netherlands with us!
This picture shows the grave of a Baylor student who died during WWII.

Oh! Belgium! Chocolate and waffles!
Here we are in the great town of Liege, Belgium. Not the prettiest town in the world, but hey, it's Europe. They did have a trendy international train station.

Embarrassing moments in Europe: walking up to the ticket counter in the train station and having an impossible conversation with a man who only speaks french. Do I speak french? No. The only this I know how to say in french is "I don't know"... rather unhelpful.
Oh well, I  guess it is about time I faced the facts: I am an obnoxious tourist. An American tourist.
#sorryboutcha

In other news our German chef, Ger, who makes dinner for us every night decided to prepare Chinese food this evening. Let's just say that Chinese food and German men don't really mesh well.

Goal for tomorrow: learn how to say thank you in Dutch! Keep me accountable!
